Introduction:
Madrid is
the capital of Spain. It is located at an altitude
of about 655m (about 2150ft).
It is the
largest city of Spain and it's the chief administrative,
financial and transportation center.
Madrid is
the centre of Spain and therefore it is the centre
of fashion, art, leisure and culture. With a population
of over three million, Madrid is Europe's fourth
largest city. All regions and nationalities inhabit
the city.
The official
nickname of the city is Madrileno. The name comes
from the residents were expert in walls climbing
with their bare hand.
History:
It is the
major Spanish city and became popular after 10th
century, when it was first mentioned as a Moorish
for tress, called Majrit. It was captured by Alfanso
I, king of Castile and Leon, in 1083.They went
on to drive the Moors from Teldo, in 1085. Then
the city was ruled by PhilipII and PhilipIII and
became the official capital in 1607.
